Sliding curtains and panel curtains

New perspectives for interior design

Decorative, functional, variable and individual - these are the properties which people expect from a contemporary window design. The light as well as the amount of colors can be determined, underline the individual lifestyle, satisfy different needs for protection and - to sum up - to fill the room with atmosphere and comfort.

Not an easy thing to do one might think facing the numerous architectonic regulations and individual wishes. But especially when it comes to serve most various demands, sliding curtains and panel curtains provide the optimal solution for a uniquely pretty and practical window decoration due to their freedom in combination and flexibility.

It is possible to combine plain colored curtains with patterned ones, transparent and opaque and short ones next to long panel curtains – depending on the defaults set by window size and shape, how seasons or times affect the incidence of light and integrate the window into the room as a decorative and functional element matching any kind of furnishing and purpose.

Systematic sliding fun

The individual even curtain cloths are usually fixed to a pulley tunnel by means of Velcro or knit loop tapes where they can be shifted along a curtain rail on small roles and thus may remain invisible. The lower edge of the panel curtain contains weight bars to guarantee a permanent taut and even hanging. According to the width of the window or wall front and the desired number of curtains systems with 1 to 5 inner rails can be applied. Several pulley tunnels can be inserted into each rail which enables a varied and purposeful design of even very wide window fronts of several meters by means of a 3 or 5 track rails. A 5 rail curtain rod allows 5 panels being shifted at the same time one behind the other which can be necessary for opening a balcony or large casement. For a faster opening and closing of several panel curtains pulley tunnels are connected by so-called carriers which turn the single panels into a large curtain surface.

Of course, not only glass fronts such as windows or terrace doors, but also wall surfaces can be covered by panel curtains or sliding curtains or they provide variety in interior design as a flexible textile room divider or as covers for wardrobes or wall niches.
